Bartender
Didn't bother asking for his name. Slow, seemingly reluctant to serve us. Had to ask for everything.

Days and Hours
Monday through Friday 4 to 7

Parking
Adjacent lot

Vibe
Great music but unfortunately there was vacuuming in the background--cleaning up from an earlier party was annoying. No wireless connection. Bar was super busy at 5:30on a Wednesday night on the main line.

Food and Price
We ordered two of the Spicy Sweet Chili Glazed Calamari and the Tacos ($6 each). Calamari excellent; tacos very good.

Drinks
Only two mainstream draft beers for happy hour. Catherine got Canyon Oaks Cabernet and Richard the Chardonnay ($4 each). Ungenerous pour.

He said:
After hearing good things about this happy hour, we were disappointed. The libations and service very inferior to the competition. But we will probably give them another chance; the calamari is that good.

She said:
I am still thinking about how good the calamari was; however, the bartender gave the absolute worst pour I have ever seen (the wine pour actually looks better in the picture!). I did not get a warm and fuzzy feeling at Belrose. Perhaps at another time, we will see what the big draw is.

Vibe
Very relaxed on a Monday night. Huge bar can accommodate many.

Food and Price
We ordered the Cornmeal Crusted Calamari ($5.75), Sweet & Sour Pork Dumplings ($4.50) and Chicken & Vegetable Spring Rolls ($5). All very good and well presented.

Drinks
Sachin, Director of Food and Beverage, provided a free sample of a new Shiraz and enlightening insights into Malbec and other wines. Richard also ordered the Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA ($3.50) and Catherine the Chianti Amadeo from Tuscany ($5.50) with quite generous pour. Very good libations and value.

He said:
No weakness. Hence the rating. Great combination of service, food, drinks and friendly atmosphere. The bill with tip was less than $30!

Elegant and very inviting

Food and Price
We ordered a bar bite, Mozzarella en Carozza ($4) and a flatbread with wild mushrooms, prosciutto, burrata, watercress and shaved red onion salad ($7.50), as well as Sausage & Broccoli Rabe, Pomodoro, aged Provolone and Calabrian Chile ($7.50). All food excellent.

Drinks
Richard ordered the Sly Fox Royal Weissmuller Hefeweizen brewed in Phoenixville ($2.50) and Catherine ordered the Tralcio Rosso Cantine Povero ($7). Both very good.

He said:
The combination of atmosphere, service, food and libations is unsurpassed in our experience. The
value is outstanding as well. Get there early. We did and there were only four other people at the bar. By the time we left, both bar and nearby tables were full.

She said:
Paramour gives you the feeling of being on vacation, sitting in a hotel bar. The food is what I would describe as upscale bar food, great ingredients and clever combinations!

Small, cozy, welcoming atmosphere; nice bar

Food and Price
All three of us ordered the Italian Sweet Sausage ($6)--a meal in itself with broccoli rabe, cannellini beans, hot peppers and red sauce--delicious and great value. Also ordered Crispy Calamari ($8)--also very good.

Drinks
Wines are half price: $4 each. Catherine and Jennifer got Merlot and Richard Pinot Grigio. All Rex Goliath, all good.

He said:
Stella Blu provides a good combination: excellent value and food. Only weakness: only Stella Artois on draft. This beer seems to be a staple for many happy hours. Would prefer a good craft brew.

She said: I am In it for the food. The sausage dish was delicious. I cannot wait to return for another bowl that can only be described an Irish stew made for Italian food lovers! Bon Appetit!

Days and Hours
Monday through Friday 4:30 - 6:30

Parking
Ample adjacent lot

Vibe
Elegant, upscale

Food and Price
20 percent off appetizer menu. We ordered the spring rolls ($3.60), Seafood Vegetable Soup for Two ($10.80) and Dim Sum Sampler for Two ($10.36).

Drinks
20 percent off. Catherine ordered house Cabernet Sauvignon and Richard the house Chardonnay.

He said:
Nick says that Friday happy hour is very crowded but we came on Wednesday and there were only two customers at the bar and they soon left. Typically $24 spent at a happy hour on food will fill you up big time, but we left hungry. No bargain on the drinks either. Some places take happy hour seriously and it shows. Others seem to offer happy hour reluctantly. Yangming fits the latter category.

She said:
I think Yangming may need to do more than exterminate bugs and update their electrical system. This is the first restaurant bar we have encountered that did not offer Internet. The food was definitely classic Yangming but somehow felt measured and the 20% off Happy Hour didn't make me feel any happier. The menus looked old and desperately in need a fresh look. I wish them the best but they are going to have to try much harder to win me back.

Bartender
John was awesome. Great service, recommendations and conversation.

Days and Hours
Monday and Wednesday 5 to 7; Tuesday and Friday 4 to 7

Parking
Always a challenge in West Chester but worth the hassle. We luckily got a spot right in front of the restaurant.

Vibe
Noisy, busy, friendly, fun!

Food and Price
It's 25% off most menu items. We ordered the stewed calamari with caper berries, tomatoes, kalamata olives and greens ($8.21) and the pepper seared yellowfin tuna with mozzarella, tomatoes, red onion, mixed greens, basil pesto and balsamic syrup ($10.46). Calamari not as good as in previous visits when it was grilled rather than stewed. Tuna phenomenal. Also got hummus with feta, cucumber, kalamata olives (can't get enough of those), roasted peppers, tomato and pita ($7.46). Excellent and a meal in itself.

Drinks
Richard got the Firestone Walker Opal ($3) and non happy hour Allagash Fluxus 2015 ($8) and Catherine the Dona Sol Cabernet Sauvignon ($5). Generous poor! Outstanding.

He said:
This place is flat out popular for good reason. We barely found two spots at the downstairs bar at 4:35 and totally SRO by 5:15. And, for craft beer lovers, this is the mother lode.

She said:
If you you like the busy feeling of a college bar, Sidebar is the place.

Vibe
Relaxed and mellow; also not crowded at about 4:45

Food and Price
We ordered mussels ($8), cheese pizza ($7), Margherita pizza ($8) and eggplant ($6). Mussels particularly good and food very good overall. Free roasted peppers and good bread. We brought food home despite the fact that there were three of us; daughter Jennifer joined us.

Drinks
We all ordered house wines ($4 each). Montepulciano and Dona Sol Chardonnay surprisingly excellent for house wines.

He said: Just two draft beer options: Blue Moon and Yuengling. But wine more than sufficed. Very good happy hour overall.

She said: Mario, the owner, offers excellent happy hour wine, along with delicious and ample appetizers. No surprise, he is Italian and knows good wine and food!

Bartender
Kim took our order promptly and the food arrived soon after. Every seat at the bar was occupied, plus there were some people standing, so Kim was busy. Yet she managed to keep everyone happy while also making drinks for the regular patrons throughout the restaurant. Kudos to Kim.  Perhaps there should have been two bartenders, but we never felt ignored.

Days and Hours
Monday through Friday, 4:30 - 6:30

Parking
Ample in adjacent lot

Vibe
Very open with high pitched ceiling and horseshoe shaped bar. Happy hour well attended with friendly patrons.

Food and Price
Great Happy Hour menu! I will post a photo later. We ordered edamame ($3), house salad ($3), two spicy tuna rolls ($4 each), spicy salmon roll ($4) and signature Teikoku roll ($7).

Edamame

Drinks
Richard ordered a non Happy Hour Chimay White ($12) and Catherine had the Malbec ($7). Drinks pricey for happy hour.

He said: Excellent sushi and food very good overall. Weak beer selection for happy hour: Kirin and Stella Artois.

She said: This may be my next favorite place for sushi! Happy Hour wine is pricey but if I stay with one glass it is okay!😊

Limoncello on Walnut Street in the borough of West Chester

It's 5 pm and already SRO. If you don't get here at 4, make sure you have a plan B. Food is exceptional. The salad with fish is all you need. Free homemade bread (great), bruschetta and limoncello at end. All add to great value.

Waitress Fabiana from Rome. Great service and conversation despite busy, hectic environment.

Food and Price Drinks
Richard and  Catherine both ordered salmon salad ($14 each) and daughter Jennifer ordered arugula salad ($8). Catherine got Montepulciano ($6) and Jen got Cabernet Sauvignon. Richard got Chimay White ($7).

Days and Hours
Monday through Friday 4 to 6

Parking
We parked in a lot across the street. It can be difficult to park in West Chester and meters are 25 cents for 10 minutes!

Vibe
Always busy and noisy but fun. Tight spacing between tables and bar.

He said:
With home made bread and bruschetta as well as ample food in the salad, that's all you need and it's very good value. Food is delicious.

She said:
Once West Chester University is in session in the fall, the bar area gets crowded and loud. Even though, there are outdoor heaters for outside dining, the warmer months are ideal to visit this venue's happy hour. The food is always excellent!

Unusually extensive happy hour menu including five snacks ($4 each), five apps ($8 each), four shared plates ($10 each) and two sandwiches ($9 and $12). Started with complimentary fresh baked bread (excellent). Ordered Point Judith Calamari app ($8) which was good until about halfway down dish, then fell apart, Antipasti Plate which was really good ($10) and Tuna Tartare app which was outstanding ($8).

The complete happy hour experience: easy and free parking (not a given), exceptional atmosphere and many choices of draft beers (eight). Plus menu and brews constantly changing so we're juiced to keep coming back.
