116 E. Gay Street
West Chester, PA
Rating: Highly Recommended
Bartender: Mario was quite attentive and we enjoyed our conversations with him and John, the owner.
Days and Hours:
Monday through Friday, 5 to 7
Parking
It's West Chester, so parking can be a challenge. If you can get a spot with a meter nearby, grab it. Otherwise, we parked in the Wells Fargo lot about a block away for $5. This lot is often full, so we were lucky.
Vibe
Very friendly and welcoming. Plus you're in the borough of West Chester. Totally vibrant every day of the week. So it's worth it to deal with any parking challenge.
Food and Price
The food isn't just excellent; it's free and all you can eat. It's a buffet too so you don't have to wait for someone to take your order, etc. And the food is freshly cooked and keeps coming out. We had mussels, pizza, eggplant, olives and cheese, sausage and peppers. All vey high quality and delicious.
Drinks
Drinks are discounted, but just $1. So house wines are $7. Beer is $5, limited to Stella Artois for happy hour. These aren't great happy hour libation prices until you factor in the fact that the really good food is free.
He said: Next time, I will inquire about bottled craft beers, but the house chardonnay was quite good. Bottom line: there is no better value in a happy hour that we know of. We were a party of four. We enjoyed seven glasses of wine (including one non happy hour wine) and the bill, including 20% tip, was about $60. This is the restaurant against which all future happy hour venues will be judged. Add a decent craft beer to the mix and I won't shut up about this place ever.
She said: Great Happy Hour! I am glad it was my turn to treat. $60.00 for 4 people and we were quite satiated! Excellent food and service!
